We visited a Village School whilst on a recent holiday
in The Gambia, West Africa. What we saw made us feel very humble and
determined to do something, however small, to help these children to a
better life through EDUCATION.Youna Basic School is situated in the Kombo North District, South of the river Gambia just east of the coastal fishing Village of Tanji. The only facilities are dedicated staff, hand pumped water from a Well and earth latrines. We couldn’t help with water or latrines, but they do have an urgent need to copy original textbooks and handouts to be shared throughout the school.
We have decided to try and help. We have obtained a basic Photocopier
and serviced it, along with a new large diesel Generator to supply power
for the copier and future other equipment. |
